High Desert Intensive Outpatient and Comprehensive Community Support Services:
In 2024, Santa Fe Psychotherapy and Consulting (SFPC) began to provide intensive outpatient services these services had been halted in 2019 due to the CoViD-19 Pandemic. After revamping and updating our policies and procedures to better suit the current needs of the community, SFPC reopened and has been serving the needs of the community with intensive and comprehensive care. Our IOP and CCSS programs are accredited through the State of New Mexico and we use the Matrix Model Curriculum as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)to best serve clients in early abstinence from drugs/alcohol, we use the DBT curriculum to serve clients with Severe Mental Illness (SMI). We use advanced drug test to ensure that abstinence from all substances is achieved while in treatment these tests are supervised by registered nurses (RN). Our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will meet with each client to initially assess the need for medication intervention and then will periodically meet with the client while they are in treatment. The IOP program consists of an intake with a client needing to meet A.S.A.M. placement criteria and then the client would meet once weekly with a therapist and 3-4, 3-hour groups per week. Outside attendance at 12-step meetings at least twice a week is strongly encouraged. Should a client present with needs that are beyond the traditional IOP model a client can be added into our Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS) program. This program will allow a client to meet with a Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) or Certified Community Support Services (CCSS) worker to help identify and address deficits in housing, educational attainment, employment, navigation of legal services or whatever is most needed. Should a client be dually enrolled (IOP & CCSS) the client would receive a more comprehensive amount of services weekly. ***** In late 2025 Santa Fe Psychotherapy and Consulting High Desert Intensive Outpatient Program partnered with Longview Recovery Center to provide sober living and transitional living opportunities to clients who are dually enrolled in CCSS and IOP. The first month of treatment clients will receive 7 hours of programming 6 days per week, this includes the above and an additional individual therapy session with their primary therapist as well as an initial evaluation for medications and ongoing medication evaluation and maintenance. The second month of treatment a client is required to be employed part-time or in an educational training program part-time. The client will receive 6 hours of programming 6 days per week and be required to meet with an individual therapist once weekly, the client may be required to pay rent on their second month. The third month of treatment a client is required to be employed part-time or in an educational training program part-time they will receive 5 hours per day of programming and meet with an individual therapist once weekly. During the third month a client may be eligible to move from the main house to the gate house and would have access to greater off-campus activities. Rent is required this month. The fourth and final month of treatment a client is required to be employed part-time or in an educational training program part-time. The client will receive 5 hours of programming 6 days per week and be required to meet with an individual therapist once weekly. In addition, the client will also have once weekly case management services to prepare for discharge and set any/all aftercare appointments. At discharge, a client will receive a certification of completion in treatment. This signifies that the client has maintained abstinence from all substance use for a minimum of 4 months.
